                                          4th Doctoral Seminar in IIB (Institute of Islamic Banking)

IIB continues to organize doctoral seminars on regular basis after every two weeks. In this regard, the fourth seminar was held on Friday, January 05, 2017. Syed Hassan Bukhari (PhD Batch #2) presented his PhD thesis research proposal on the topic titled "Implementation of Shariah governance framework: Comparative Study of Islamic Banks". Mr. Hassan started his presentation with the introduction of Islamic financial industry and its popularity in current scenario. He explained that to ensure development and stability of Islamic finance industry Shariah governance system is crucial for IFIs. He further elaborated objective of his research is to deliberate or analyze  the level of commitment and implementation of the requirements of the Shariah  Governance Framework by IFIs in Pakistan and highlights the success factors, challenges and suggestions for effective implementation of this framework. He furthermore told that he is going to use Case Study methodology for this. After the completion of his presentation, question-answer session was held. In the end, students and faculty members also gave him some suggestions to improve his proposal.
